104-9 VIRGIN RADIO’S ROBBIE “THE INTERN” ATTEMPTS A GUINNIESS WORLD RECORD!

EDMONTON, July 2nd, 2012 – Robbie “The Intern” Gibson, from The Pepper & Dylan Morning Show, has always had a dream of making it into the Guinness book of World Records. With support from Northlands, Robbie’s dream just may come true as he attempts “The Longest Marathon on a Theme Park Attraction”, July 24th & 25th at Capital Ex!

Robbie will make his record attempt by staying on the Capital Ex Midway Ferris wheel for 30 hours! His adventure will begin at 8 A.M. Tuesday, July 24th and conclude at 2 P.M. on Wednesday, July 25th. The last record was 25 hours and 30 minutes by Gus Martinez in Santa Monica on June 1st, 2012.

“Setting a World Record has always been a dream of mine,” Says Robbie. “I’ve attempted a bunch of different records like the world’s longest slip and slide on Connors Hill, the world’s largest pancake, or the world’s largest tinfoil ball, but they were mainly for fun. I never thought I’d actually get a shot at this!”

To show their support, Pepper & Dylan will be cheering him on by staying on the air for 30 straight hours alongside Robbie. An official Guinness Adjudicator will be flown to Edmonton to lend their expertise and officially award Robbie the title, if he is successful.

“Capital Ex has opened up an amazing opportunity not only for me, but for Edmonton!” says Gibson “I just want to contribute a little something to our ‘City Of Champions’ label.”
