Northlands Centre Stage

Northlands Centre Stage is an exciting venue located in the heart of the fair grounds in the Plaza: a landscaped green space just across from the Edmonton EXPO Centre’s east entry.

Over the 10 days of the fair the stage will host an international mix of cultural programming and entertainment.

You can enjoy all the acts on the grassy area in front of the stage or with some food and drinks in the nearby East Plaza Patio. This is a great recharge zone during your day at Capital EX.

Sideswipe

Sideswipe is an extreme martial art performance team that combines all forms of martial arts, dance, and acrobatics to put on a highflying show. Created and choreographed by Matt Mullins, and presented by Love Productions in New York City, Sideswipe has been taking martial arts from a sport to entertainment for the last 10 years.

Street Corner Symphony

Street Corner Symphony is a contemporary a cappella group based out of Nashville, Tennessee, founded on 28 May 2010 to compete in NBC’s all-vocal competition, The Sing-Off. They became internationally known in 2010 when they became runners-up on the show’s second season. These southern gents quickly won over Sing-Off judges Ben Folds (Ben Folds Five), Shawn Stockman (Boyz II Men), and Nicole Scherzinger (The Pussycat Dolls), and–most importantly–millions of NBC primetime viewers after demonstrating their unique, laid-back-yet-dynamic style of a cappella. Josh Casey performs a mash up of comedy and skills; juggling, audience participation, jokes and stunts are all part of the experience. Featuring an array of the unusual – Josh keeps it surprising, and fun. All along keeping things hilarious with his laid back, comedic style.

Northlands is excited to partner with Supernova to bring you the Capital EX Battle of the Bands! This cranked-up competition will consist of two rounds. Local bands will have the opportunity to compete in front of a panel of judges at two Edmonton-based 18+ venues for one of five spots in the finals.
